Shake Ya Tailfeather

I spent the first part of my week doing a recruiting event down at Virginia Tech. It felt both odd and great to be back on campus. This was the first time I’d been back when I didn’t know anyone or wasn’t attending a football game. I officially felt old, especially walking around in a suit.

When I got back there was plenty of snuggling with the little dude, and some less exciting housework. Thursday night I met up with some girlfriends for dinner, and got to see a friend in town from Australia. The weather was great Friday, and I’m hoping that we finally left winter behind.

John and I went to Frying Pan Farm Park Saturday morning, along with every other child under the age of 8 in the Herndon/Reston area. We got there before 10:00, so it wasn’t too bad at the start, but it was crazy by the time we left. We have been a couple of times in the past, but John really enjoyed it this time.

He walked right up to the animals on his own to pet them. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but he definitely loved exploring. We even got to see day old lambs, and a male peacock that seemed to be putting in a lot of effort to woo the lone female.

To end the weekend, we introduced John to Willy Wonka after church. Obviously, the original.
